Bacardi Roles & Responsibilities

Sometimes describing a process can be simplified with a little bit of animation. Bacardi have a procedure in place to make sure their advertising maintains its high standard throughout the various regions it is seen in. Character animation was the best way to show this procedure, bringing a light hearted view to an otherwise everyday message keeps the attention of the viewer and delivers the information.

Power house

24 09.09

This HD 3D animation was rendered in-house using Hot Knife’s propietry built RenderFarm, which is great for producing high definition, high quality images on time for a tight turn-around. The sequence itself is to promote the laying of an electricty cable between Holland and the Uk for Britned and highlights the key elements required to make this happen.

Store Pose Modifier

10 07.09

PoseStoreFound myself heading over to Paul Neale’s great site for some knowledge on Weak referencing in 3ds Max the other day.
http://paulneale.com/tutorials/Scripting/weakReferences/weakReferences.htm

This solved a few problems I was having, thanks, and led me to dip my toe further into MaxScript with the result of a simple modifer that can be dropped onto a spline control object – you can then select other spline control objects that you wish to store positional, rotational data for – hitting the “>” button will instance the modifier across the control objects.

You can then hit the Gettr button to store their transforms….double clicking on the list will apply the stored tranform. Let me know if it works for you !!

I’ve added a Blend pose slider which has a checkbox next to it – enabling the checkbox blends the pose from the current position in space. Leaving it off blends the position to and from a zero position.

Script is here DOWNLOAD

Anaglyph rendering

07 07.09

This is an example of an anaglyph render so get your 3D glasses on – the sequence was used as a stand attractor in the states. Rendered for and played through high-def monitors and projectors at the Clinphone stand this worked well for attracting attention to the product. Hot Knife provided the audio and visuals as well as any high resolution print work required for the 3D.

Bunny and the Bull

23 06.09

A recent industry viewing of the WarpX film “Bunny and the Bull” by Mighty Boosh director Paul King, produced hearty smiles for the post production work we did on the background plates for the Switzerland scenes. The loop sequences were used for back-projections for some of the driving scenes over which the actors were filmed. The film is due for release this Autumn.
