Photogrammetry is the process by which objects or scenes in the real-world are photographed or scanned and converted into digital assets.

The Hyena model was recreated for Wollaton Hall museum, as a digital interactive to investigate the many processes of Taxidermy. The model was photographed on site and then digitised using photogrammetry software. The model was then optimised using Blender 3D and exported to Unity, a games engine, to create the real-time interactive exhibit for the museum.

Artist James Lake creates amazing cardboard sculptures. He provided Hot Knife with original models which, once photogrammetried, were then optimised and rigged ready for animation within Blender to create a 6 minute stop-motion narrative tale.
